Just random thoughts

Whatever happened to summer?  It just came and gone like a fart in the wind.  It's not like it was even a terriffic summer, it rained a lot.  This is something I'm dreading from now on though.  Those winter blues, the short days, the COLD!
Well, anyway... I thought I'd order myself some more games, since I won't be going out all that much on the evenings from now on.  I'm hoping to win Mafia 2 for £6 pounds on Ebay.  Trouble is, do I trust a digital download?  It's something I've never come accross before on a sale of a game.  I dunno, all this new technology does my head in sometimes.  I kinda liked the good old days when one would have gone into WHSmiths or a shop alike and took a game to the counter to buy.  There's kinda like this anticipation aswell, sort of like, "ooh, can't wait to get home and play this game!!"  I miss those days.
On the theme of Mafia 2, I had this incredible dream.  One which I MUST write down to remember and look back upon.  Geez, it was almost like a movie.  But I mentioned Mafia 2 because of the nature of the dream.  Oh, so much violence, and damn... interesting characters?  I mean how could I dream up characters?  I don't even have that much of an imagination?  Well, I played a part in it too.  I was a Russian sniper called Leonardo. (yeah, typical Russian name right?) and I was in a group of renegades, and each individual had special skills.  We were on this mission, and I had to assassinate some important figure, while the other guys would get us all out of security.  Only the mission flopped, they somehow found out and we were rumbled.

LOL sometimes I wished I lived in a dream, life can be pretty tedious at times.  A tragic statement to make huh?!

Blazing Laptops and Gaming Delights.

So, I had the biggest shock last Saturday.  I think there's a lesson to be learned from the idiotic phases of life.  How could one be so stupid as to use a pressurised spray can near a lit fireplace?  It just didn't register at the time.  Even though, my laptop caught fire, (and my left sleeve plus trainers included.)  I was still able to salvage parts that I'm currently selling now on ebay.  Just something to gain a little bit of money back from a £370 laptop.  It really is a shameful waste of money!!
Anyway, I think I'll be spending more time on the Desktop PC from now on.  NO MORE LAPTOPS!!  They're just too much hassle, and they get clogged up with all kinds of crap.  Which eventually renders them useless if the fan gets stuck and the processor overheats!  Not to mention anyway that they're not very good for gaming.  Gaming huh?  Seems this year I've been in a mood to play games more than any other.  Thanks to this girl from this forum I have been using and her obsession with a game called "Bioshock".  I mean, I installed it, played it, and got hooked from the initial outset.  The graphics are stunning, and I love the whole story.  Not many FPS's I have played in the past have gone into such great detail.  It's simply epic!  Probably the best FPS I have played since the original Half Life.  (Half Life 2 was good, but really short IMHO)  I love the little hacking sections too.  It's a nice little touch, and kinda reminds me of an old Spectrum game called "SuperPipeLine II".
At the moment I'm at the end of the game, but it's not such an easy task defeating Fontaine. (who was originally the guy guiding you.)

Would you be so kindly as to stop writing now...

Movie 2010 ... A good year?

I don't know, but I can't lie, I haven't been to the cinema this year so far thus that many times.  Sometimes I look at the list to see what is on and I disregard each movie I read.  It's either because I don't like the sound of them, or because of other peoples reviews.  While the movies I have seen however, have been dissapointing (with the exception of Inception.)  It's also the year where again, we've seen some unnecessary remakes.  A nightmare on Elm Street (although out of curiosity I was eagerly awaiting to see.) wasn't a patch on the original movie.  Freddy Kruger lost his iconic appeal in this movie, and the dialogue was cringe worthy.  Clash of the Titans was a farse.  Big on effects, but little on anything else.  It just lost any charm the original movie had while some of the actors looked completely bored being there.  Sam Worthington's wooden performance of the hero Perseus was laughable.  That's no discredit to the actor himself, it is just the way the movie was all panned out.
2010 is also yet another year of "drab" comedies.  The latest effort being a movie (which I was unfortunate to go and see) called The Other Guys.  A movie which probably has an initially okayish concept of two cops who are outcasts that strive to be something else, something more special.  But fails on delivering something new in the way of laughs.  We're yet again seeing Will Ferrel in his particularly annoying type-cast appearance with his usual brand of crude humor, and although Mark Whalberg has his moments, it's not particularly the kind of role I would like to see him in.  Wasted!

I guess I'm saying, I'm rather dissapointed with the quality of movies this year.  But the one outstanding exception being Inception.  A big congratulation to Chris Nolan for delivering another fine film of a year.

Tangerine Dream

Not really about the band here, but more or so about a dream I had last night.  The feeling and the emotion I had,  it was like where one would listen to a beautiful piece of music, or where one would watch a beautiful scene from a movie.  It was that same exact feeling and I woke up wanting to go straight back to sleep.
The dream had lots of detail, quite surreal in places.  But it was a location and with a group of people I felt at ease and comfortable with.  Where I'm usually shy, I was the exact opposite here and istead of the cold, industrial location I'm used to seeing I was placed in a location of a golden field with a pathway that had wooden fencing.  The weather was sunny and warm and there was a gentle breeze at times.  The yellow grass flowing as the wind blew softly.  The sky was blue and had a giant blue earth like celestial body rotating.  It was surreal, but very beautiful to look at.  There was also a girl who I had great chemistry with and talked to with such ease without a worry of saying anything wrong.  It was perfect!!

Dreams are difficult to explain really, but I know one thing... They sure do TEASE people.
